Video: Kathleen Jannaway at Sixth International Vegan Festival
In this video, Kathleen Jannaway gives a lecture on ecology and veganism at the Sixth International Vegan Festival. With so much in the news lately about climate change and the ecological impact of animal agriculture, her words seem appropriate to archive here.
Vegans have known for decades that animal agriculture is a leading driver of deforestation, human and ecological health crises, and global climate change. With the science catching up and the presence of ecological collapse felt in wildfires, hurricanes, and rising temperatures, those still holding onto idyllic, grass-fed dreams of sustainable meat are losing ground to stand on.
The future is vegan. The future of food is local, veganic, and rewilded.
